We are excited to welcome Mohammad Deme to PACE as an intern from Emory University. His dedication to public health and innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to drive community impact through data and policy. At PACE, Mohammad will be working on a project aimed at improving WASH services in healthcare facilities: Application of the WASH-Fit tool in the municipality of Diamaguène Sicap Mbao, Senegal.

Mohammad Deme is a Master of Public Health student at Emory University, specializing in Global Health with a certificate in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). He holds a B.S. in Integrated Health Science with a minor in Biology and brings hands-on experience in environmental laboratory methods, data analysis, and public health research. Inspired by his Senegalese heritage, Mohammad is passionate about eliminating health disparities and advancing equity to improve health outcomes on a global scale. Known for his innovative and collaborative mindset, he is committed to community service and values learning from others through shared knowledge and experiences to help create a lasting impact on the future of public health.

His internship reflects PACE’s broader strategy of linking applied research with inclusive development. Through our North-South partnerships, we help transform academic knowledge into policy and action—building stronger, more resilient communities across Africa.

Welcome Mohammad! Let’s build a future where data, equity, and local leadership drive global health outcomes.
