The Pan African Consortium of Experts (PACE), as a member of the PROMISE Consortium, will participate in the 3rd annual workshop, to be held from March 30 to April 2, 2026, at the Africana Hotel in Kampala, Uganda.
The international PROMISE Consortium aims to improve sanitation and hygiene policies by leveraging evidence and capacity building, with the goal of better directing investments to strengthen global health, well-being, and equity.
In this context, the workshop will bring together consortium partners in collaboration with the Reckitt Global Institute of Hygiene and the Gates Foundation to address several key objectives, including raising awareness of mechanisms for institutionalizing evidence-based decision-making in the sanitation, hygiene, and health sectors; building capacity for the production, translation, and integrated use of evidence, and accelerating the translation of research into public policy, practices, and concrete investments.
Within this network, PACE actively contributes by implementing evidence-based projects, amplifying the voices of communities, and supporting decision-makers in their decision-making processes. It is within this framework that the think tank, representing Senegal, is currently deploying the WASH FIT tool in the municipality of Diamaguène Sicap Mbao to sustainably improve the quality of care services in health facilities.
Building on this experience, PACE will share its lessons learned and best practices during the workshop through presentation sessions and panels, thereby contributing to collective learning and strengthening collaborative dynamics among partners.
Through its participation, the Pan African Consortium of Experts (PACE) brings strategic expertise to the PROMISE consortium—rooted in African realities yet designed for global dialogue—with the aim of strengthening health security in Senegal by improving WASH services in healthcare facilities.
