Context

The Pan African Consortium of Experts (PACE) is a think tank comprised of talented and experienced professional development experts with a broad range of skills based on decades of leadership and implementation of national, regional, and international projects and programs in different parts of the world. PACE’s core mission is to transform ideas into operations and solutions into concrete implementations that lead to meaningful and sustainable results. Co-creation and innovation, with the active involvement of partners in the search for effective and efficient solutions for community development, are essential determinants of its actions. PACE’s intervention strategy favors a holistic and multidisciplinary approach throughout the entire value chain of its interventions. As part of the development of its activities, PACE is recruiting an accountant to play a key role within the think tank by contributing to the management of financial and accounting aspects. He/She is responsible for maintaining financial accounts, analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.

Main mission
  • Initiate and ensure the successful technical and administrative implementation of one or more research programs or projects assigned to him/her.
  • Respond to technical and financial calls for tender
  • Lead a multidisciplinary project team
Activities
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of research projects
  • Monitor the indicators included in the annual work program;
  • Supervise, lead, and develop the program’s implementation in the field with research teams and internal and external partners;
  • Write quarterly progress reports for the program under their responsibility, in conjunction with the financial manager;
  • Write summary notes, reports, administrative correspondence, and other documents relating to the projects and programs under their responsibility;
  • Represent PACE at national and international technical meetings.
Required qualifications

Doctorate with a specialization in Applied Economics, Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in research, project implementation, and policy dialogue;
  • Proficiency in planning, statistical, and econometric tools
  • Good understanding of the Sustainable
  • Development Goals and how to design and measure indicators
  • Good grounding in applied research methods
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English;
  • Available immediately.
Required skills
  • Skills in quantitative research methods;
  • Skills in data collection and analysis;
  • Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative surveys;
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams;
  • Proficiency in data processing software (R- PYTHON-SPSS, STATA, etc.)
  • Good writing skills for reports, policy briefs, and blogs;
  • Good public presentation skills
